The News Story

On Monday, August 25, Boise, Idaho faced it's worst disaster in more than 20 years. A cold front moved through with winds gusting over 50 miles per hour. Just as the winds came, so did a field fire. The winds wiped the fire across the field and up a hill and within just a matter of minutes, 10 homes were totally destroyed by the fire, 10 more were damaged to various levels, and one lady died in her home.

The Treasure Valley Magic Club is putting on a benefit fund raiser magic show entitled "PHOENIX - Rising From The Ashes". All proceeds will go to the burned out victims. With gracious donations for a stage and the many other things needed to put on a magic show, we hope to raise $10,000.00 for the victims. So far the support has been great and we are looking forward to an even greater show on September 26.

Over 10 of our local magicians are donating their time and talents for this cause. The Mayor of the city is totally supporting this event. Boise State University has donated a staged theater for the event. Local businesses and media are donating all kinds of free advertising and cash dollars to pull off such an event.

This is a family friendly show. If we sell enough tickets soon enough, we will put on a second show at 9:00 pm. Seating is limited to 435 seats in this theater and the whole idea is to raise as much money as we can for the victims who lost everything in this devistating fire.
